FaceOFF: Bagged Vacuum Vs Bagless Vacuum

FaceOFF: Bagged Vacuum Vs Bagless Vacuum

Are you confused between a bagged vacuum cleaner and a bagless vacuum cleaner? We understand that choosing a vacuum cleaner for yourself can be a little tricky, especially if you have so many options to choose from.

Don’t worry because after reading this article, you would be able to differentiate between a bagged and a bagless vacuum at least.

Bagged Vacuum Cleaner

A bagged vacuum cleaner is one where you use a bag to store all the dirt and dust that is suctioned up with the help of a vacuum cleaner. This is a great way to store the dust particles as it keeps them trapped inside the bag and there are unlikely chances of the dust particles being released back into the surrounding air.

Apart from making sure that your surrounding air is healthy and all the dust and dirt particles are properly packed, it also makes the cleaning process easier and simpler. Dennis at Homeguyd has covered this point in much more detailed.

You don’t have to spend too much time in cleaning it as you just need to remove the filled bag and replace it with an empty bag instead and your vacuum will be ready to use again.

Another useful feature of a bagged vacuum cleaner is that you can use it for a longer period of time as it can hold a large amount of dirt and dust, unlike other vacuum cleaners.

Bagged Vacuum Cleaner

Pros:

  • It can hold a lot of dirt and dust at a time
  • It doesn’t spill the accumulated dirt outside.
  • It helps in keeping your surrounding air fresh and clean
  • It can let you vacuum for a longer period of time as it can hold a lot of dust
  • It is easy to clean your vacuum cleaners
  • You can use disposable bags to escape the cleaning process.

Cons:

  • It can be a little expensive as you have to buy a lot of vacuum bags
  • Vacuum bags could be a little heavy to dispose of.

Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

As the name suggests, a bagless vacuum cleaner includes a container which is responsible for holding all the dust and the dirt that is suctioned in by the vacuum hose.

It is cheaper in comparison to a bagged vacuum cleaner as you don’t have to invest in the vacuum bags, you can just clean the container after every use to ensure that your vacuum cleaner is clean and maintained.

However, it doesn’t provide you as much safety as a bagged vacuum cleaner.

The dust and dirt particles are more likely to get spilled in the bagless vacuum cleaner and you might end up release the allergens back into the air which may cause various diseases.

Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

Pros:

  • It is comparatively cheaper than a Bagged Vacuum Cleaner
  • It is easier to clean and maintainer
  • You don’t need to buy several containers for it, you can use the same container for the next vacuum run.

Cons:

  • It will not be as effective in cleaning as a bagged vacuum cleaner.
  • It might release the allergens and dust particles back into the air.

Homeless Children of Odessa

Homeless Children of Odessa

According to official statistics, there are some thousand homeless people currently in Odessa. The homeless situation in Ukraine is different from the situation in other European countries. Firstly, this difference is due to the idea of “propiska”. If the person loses his place of residence, he loses his “propiska”. If a person without a “propiska” loses his passport, then it is a real possibility that he will never get it back.

The whole state system of medical and social services, and more besides,  is linked to “propiska”, which homeless people simply do not have. They therefore effectively do not exist for the municipal and state structures that have to deal with these people. They are deprived of medical and social help, shelter, the possibility of a legal income. Their lack of personal hygiene disgusts many of the more safe social classes. The threat of homelessness, however, is very real for every Ukrainian citizen today.

We believe the best strategy to change the situation is to work in two ways: providing direct help to homeless citizens and the creation of those conditions – legal, social, economic – for their successful reentry into society.

«Center for Registration and Provision of Social Services for Homeless Citizens»
In 1998 the Fund opened a Registration Center, where the homeless get social, medical and legal help. Later the center was officially established in 46 Myasoedovskaya Street.

Each day about 20 people come to the center. Here homeless people are registered and are put in contact with various city, regional and oblast’ services so as to help the homeless people and direct them to medical examinations. When necessary, they assist by getting the people to clinics and in buying their medicine, by having their documents returned to them, by helping to get free rail and bus tickets to wherever they live, and material help, such as the provision of clothes and food.

For each person, individual rehabilitation programs are developed, often providing a residence, after which the individual gets back to society.

Here, legal consultations on the prevention of becoming homeless, the restoration of habitation rights, and many other things take place. Lawyers provide a high quality legal service to both homeless people and low-income citizens. Thanks to them many people have received justice in various city and oblast’ courts.

The Fund lobbies for human rights all the time; it organizes “round tables” – meetings and negotiations with representatives of authorities from both local and central departments.

The Fund also develops and promotes normative documents directed at changing the existing situation. Specialists at the Fund carry out on-going legal analysis relating to the issue of habitation law and similar areas.

“The Way Home” Newspaper

Practically from the moment the  Fund was established, they published a newspaper that was then titled «On the Bottom», which has since been renamed «The Way Home».

This publication is the only one in Ukraine which is a member of the “International Network of Street Papers” (INSP) – a global movement that brought together about fifty publications from all over the world so as to provide homeless people with the opportunity to earn money.

The main aim of “The Way Home” newspaper is to return homeless people to society. The best way to give help to those who want it is to give them a chance to earn money.

Street Soccer for Homeless People

For 6 years now our children take part in the Homeless World Cup, held last year in Milan.   The organizer of  the competition is  INSP.  After competing in this competition, in which 56 teams from all over the world took part, our team lifted the Cup.
This kind of social rehabilitation provides people with an opportunity to cultivate team spirit, self-esteem and the will to win.

The Grand Final Of The Children’s Mini-Football Tournament

The Grand Final Of The Children’s Mini-Football Tournament

The grand final of the children’s mini-football tournament has just taken place. Three Odessa teams turned out, namely Orphanage no. 4, the school-orphanage no. 90 and “Domovenok”, the team of DKD.

The battle on the pitch was fierce, despite the friendly status of the competition. The spectators were treated to many interesting moments, great saves and of course goals.

Orphanage no. 4 took first place in the tournament, and were rewarded with the grand prize, 1st Place trophy and new football boots for their squad. Second place was occupied by the school-orphanage no.90, with Domovenok in third.

Our very own Rita Bezverkhaya was named goalie of the tournament, quite an honour for the only girl on any of the teams! Artem Smirnov, also of Domovenok, was named  player of the tournament. He played a mature game well beyond his years, despite lacking the physicality, technical ability and footballing mind of a number of his opponents.

The senior referee conducted the prize-giving ceremony together with Herman Shuiskii, the DKD coach.

On Friday, September 12, the Odessa Charitable Foundation “Road to Home” was visited by a group of Japanese volunteer peacekeepers who arrived in Odessa on the “Peace Ship”. “Peace Boat”, a steamer leased by the same-name public organization, whose mission is to promote the establishment of links between civilizations for the sake of achieving universal peace, protecting human rights and protecting the environment.

The guests from Japan got acquainted with the leadership of the Foundation and its pupils, watched the presentation about the activities of the organization, took part in master classes in pottery and hand-made. The students of the Foundation prepared a concert for the Japanese guests – with dance and vocal numbers performed as kids from the center for children’s development and creativity “Smile”, and older children from the center “Bridge to the Future”. After the concert, the children treated the guests to dishes of Ukrainian cuisine, we note that borshch and cabbage soup came to like the Japanese volunteers.

After lunch, a cheerful company of students from the Foundation and Japanese guests went to the Spartak Stadium, where a friendly football match took place. The guests played football with the team “Domovenok”, which was formed from boys and girls, pupils of the OBF “Road to the House”. In the first half on the field came the guys from the older age group, which included pupils of the Foundation and teenagers, internally displaced people from Lugansk, temporarily residing in the “Road to the House.”

They outplayed the Japanese team with a score of 3: 0. In the second half of the meeting, the guys from the younger football team came out against the renewed team of volunteers (for which the 5-year-old “Neimar” played). The account of the second half of the meeting is 1: 1. Although, in fact, the result of the match has no value – most importantly, there were no injuries, and all the gathered left the stadium in a great mood.
